Brugmansia x candida 'Yellow'

Another show-stopper for those living in frost-free climes!

This hybrid form of Brugmansia produces enormous, pendulous trumpet flowers in luminous shades of soft yellow. The blooms can reach around 25–30cm long, hanging gracefully among the large, lush foliage and filling the garden with their intoxicating fragrance, particularly in the evening.

A vigorous and fast-growing tropical shrub, 'Yellow' makes a magnificent feature in a warm garden or an impressive specimen when grown in a large pot. Give it plenty of room to grow and it will reward you with an extraordinary display of flowers throughout the warmer months.

Best grown in fertile, moisture-retentive, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade, with regular watering during periods of active growth. Protect from frost in cooler climates, or move container-grown plants to a sheltered position over winter. Pruning can be used to maintain a more compact, bushy shape.

We have grown this plant very successfully as far south as Sydney, where it can reach approximately 2.5–4m high × 2–3m wide in good conditions.

Fun Fact: Brugmansia are commonly known as Angel's Trumpets, a name inspired by their enormous pendulous flowers. Their fragrance is often strongest in the evening, making them particularly enchanting in a warm summer garden.
