Intriguing name for a plant. The name 'Bad River' to us was always the reason to grow this variety. It is slightly shorter with darker flower spikes than the original form. Flower panicles are held horizontally to the flower stem and appear like mini dragon flies above the foliage. It is a wonderful addition to our gravel garden, where it is combined with Ratibida 'Red Midget' and Agapanthus 'Poppin Purple'.

A fabulous Miscanthus often referred to as 'Flame Grass'. Upright clumps of dark green foliage turn bronze and flame orange in Autumn. In cooler climates the Autumn colour is most intense and therefore 'Purpurascens' should be planted somewhere visible to appreciate the hues of a changing season. Tall spikes of soft pink inflorescence are present in Summer and change to a silvery plume in Autumn and Winter. Height 1.2m Width 80cm. Appreciates moist soil.

A superior fine textured selection. We have this grass planted down a portion of our driveway. Brutal weather conditions in the Summer of 2018 and 2019 didn't warrant any extra water for this tough plant. It just kept on performing. Red tints in the flowers and strong yellow autumn foliage add extra interest to this already stunning grass.

Slightly taller than 'Yaku Jima', and produces inflorescences with gold tints in late Summer on top of narrow graceful leaves. Used as a hedge, focal point, backdrop or drift. Very versatile. An Australian native hybrid with pinky purple flower heads when first open, fading to a wheaten colour with time. Great for mass planting, borders and native gardens. Cutting back in Winter is the only maintenance required. Purple Lea® handles all soil types and is frost and drought tolerant. In warm and wet winter areas (QLD & Nth NSW) there may be a possibility of some self seeding, but it is native and non invasive. Clumps wonderfully with beautiful arching leaves that reach 90cm in height.
