Native to South Africa where it is common in garden culture. An unusual plant with whorls of brilliant orange flowers in clusters on the stems. A fairly large growing plant that doesn't enjoy frost but handles all soil types, heat and dry conditions. If it is pruned hard in Spring it makes a very handsome 1-1.5m shrub when in flower in Summer. Otherwise it can reach 2m x 1m.
