Kniphofia as a genus is named after 18th century German botanist - Johann Hieronymus Kniphof. 'Red Hot Poker' is the common name, even if many are not red. All Kniphofia originate in Africa, but are bred all over the world. POCO™ Sunset has been bred by Terra Nova Nurseries. It is a compact variety that blooms longer and has attractive upright foliage. Makes a great container plant. Deep orange flowers that fade to tangerine as they age. Held above linear dark green foliage. Frost tolerant. 80cm high x 60cm wide.
