Kniphofia as a genus is named after 18th century German botanist - Johann Hieronymus Kniphof. 'Red Hot Poker' is the common name, even if many are not red. All Kniphofia originate in Africa, but are bred all over the world. 'Poco Sunset' has been bred by Terra Nova Nurseries. It is a compact variety that blooms longer and has attractive upright foliage. Makes a great container plant. Deep orange flowers that fade to tangerine as they age. Held above linear dark green foliage. Frost tolerant. 80cm high x 60cm wide.
