Intriguing name for a plant. The name 'Bad River' to us was always the reason to grow this variety. It is slightly shorter with darker flower spikes than the original form. Flower panicles are held horizontally to the flower stem and appear like mini dragon flies above the foliage. It is a wonderful addition to our gravel garden, where it is combined with Ratibida 'Red Midget' and Agapanthus 'Poppin Purple'.

We have been growing this lovely form of Miscanthus for a number of years. It is a seed grown variety from our own stock. Very upright in form to 1.6m with a fleck of variegation through the foliage, indicating part of its parentage being Miscanthus 'Strictus'. We have grown it as a backdrop to clipped spheres of Phillyrea angustifolia and Olea 'Bambalina'.

A superior fine textured selection. We have this grass planted down a portion of our driveway. Brutal weather conditions in the Summer of 2018 and 2019 didn't warrant any extra water for this tough plant. It just kept on performing. Red tints in the flowers and strong yellow autumn foliage add extra interest to this already stunning grass.

Introducing Panicum 'Lama Rossa', translated from the Italian for red blade. After many years of growing this Panicum we have decided to give it a name. Upright to about 1m in height like its parent plant 'Heavy Metal'. The main difference between this and 'Heavy Metal' is in the colour - it has red tips to the blades which age to being a dark burgundy. Then as Summer wanes this Panicum puts on a cloak of autumnal hues - claret, sanguine, maroon and bronze before fading into its Winter wheaton colours. A proven performer.

Probably the most planted Australian native true grass in the current market, and with good reason. It's great for mass planting, borders and native gardens. Maintenance is minimal, needing only a cut back to ground level once a year. Nafray® handles all soil types and is drought tolerant and frost resistant. Ivory beige inflorescence appear in late Summer, early Autumn and continue until May becoming more wheaten in colour as they age. In warm and wet weather areas (QLD and Nth NSW) there may be a possibility of a little self seeding however it is native and non invasive. A high quality plant, somewhat shorter than the original parent plant - Pennisetum alopecuroides. 90 x 90cm.
