A stunning combination of fuschia pink petals and contrasting coral sepals. Unusual. Another Salvia that is part of the Salgoon Series which is bred for smaller size, abundance of flowers and the ability to look good in containers without excessive pruning. 40cm high x 30cm wide. After growing and selling Salvia 'Waverly' for 15 or so years, we took a spell from supplying it in favour of newer forms. However, it has returned as we can't refute its qualities and popularity. The quintessential Salvia. Every garden should have at least one. Grows to 1.2m high and has attractive deep green leathery corrugated foliage. Purple flower buds rise proud above the foliage producing white flowers with almost metallic purple calyces.

Native to Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and northwestern Spain. We planted Salvia barrelieri in our gravel garden as a trial. From mid Spring to mid Autumn it has not stopped flowering and has formed a decent clump. Large sage green leaves form a rosette from which spikes of pale lavender blue flowers rise to around 1m in height. Cold and heat tolerant. Stunning vertical appeal and a little hard to find.

A brilliant addition to the ever increasing range of new Salvias to explore. A striking black calyx supports a strong boysenberry purple flower which flowers through Summer and Autumn. Mid green leaves with a tinge of lime colouring make for a great contrast. Due to 'Smokey Jazz' having been bred for a neater tighter habit, it makes a good container specimen as well as striking garden feature. 80 x 80cm. Frost will cut this Salvia but is will surface strongly in the Spring. Great companion for silver foliage plants like Helichrysum and Santolina.

Native to the Cape of Good Hope in Southern Africa. Sometimes referred to as Sand Sage, we are always trialling plants for their ability to withstand really hot Summers and frosty cold Winters while still giving us a strong element of beauty and intrigue. Salvia lanceolata fits in well. Dusky pink calyxes with smoky salmon beige petals on silver grey foliage makes for a curious yet beautiful combination. Prefers well drained soil and flowers in mid Summer. Grows 1m x 1m.

Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'
Sold out
Buy 1 for $12.00 / Buy 5 for $50.00
Salvia nemorosa is native to a wide area of Central Europe and Western Asia. There are numerous cultivars, of which 'Caradonna' is in our opinion the most impressive. Extremely popular, 'Caradonna' provides a rich display of deep violet blue flower spikes on unusually dark stems through Spring and early Summer, and if cut back sends up a repeat flowering in Autumn. An outstanding variety, which performs well in our high heat conditions. 60 x 60cm.

Like all nemorosa Salvias, 'Giovanni' is an herbaceous perennial. It is the darkest of all its type, producing violet purple blooms from sage green leaves. Shorter than other varieties we have grown like 'Caradonna', however the colour of the flowers is second to none. It's a real eye catcher when in bloom. 30cm high x 40cm wide. Prefers full sun with well drained, loamy soil.

'Red Thunder' forms an attractive clump of feathery foliage. It is a neat and tidy, well behaved Sanguisorba and has had much interest with new perennial movement style plantings. Elegant, slender stems rise from the foliage clumps in late Spring. Claret red flower spikes top each spike, adding colour and structural interest. Wonderful in amongst ornamental grasses and Sedums, but equally showy in gravel gardens or naturalistic plantings. To add to the versatility, 'Red Thunder' looks fabulous in a mixed container combination. 80cm x 60cm (in our conditions).

When we first bought 'Autumn Blush' we weren't certain of its qualities in comparison to the better known 'Autumn Joy'. However, over years of trials the smaller and tighter growth of 'Autumn Blush' have brought it to our attention. Beautiful in all stages of flowering, from the apple-green buds to the copper seed heads in Autumn. This Sedum is definitely worth growing.
