Digiplexis is one of the most eye-catching perennials in our garden. 'Falcon Fire' produces tall spires of tubular flowers in rich shades of burnt orange, copper and deep pink during Spring. The blooms are held well above a neat mound of glossy green foliage and are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators.
With the flowers growing to around 80cm tall, it makes a striking feature amongst grasses and perennials. Best grown in full sun to light shade in fertile, well-drained soil with regular moisture during dry periods. Removing spent flower spikes will encourage repeat flowering.
Fun fact: Digiplexis is an intergeneric hybrid between the Digitalis (foxglove) and Isoplexis genera, combining the exotic, long-lasting flowers of the Canary Island foxgloves with the hardiness and vigour of traditional foxgloves.
