'Blue Glitter' is easily grown in well drained sandy, rocky soil in full sun. Tolerates poor soils and flops and sprawls in shady areas or in very fertile soils.
This improved form of Eryngium planum matures quicker than the original species, has a greater number of flowers, and the colour is a more intense blue. Also makes a great cut flower with its well spaced shimmering pin-cushion flowers.
Grows to 1m when in flower but the leaf base reaches a maximum of 20cm high. Frost and drought tolerant. Does not transplant well due to its tap root system.
