Hydrangea paniculata 'Grandiflora' is a classic and much-loved panicle hydrangea, prized for its enormous, conical flower heads produced from summer through to autumn. The blooms open creamy white before gradually developing soft pink and burgundy tones as they mature, creating a spectacular display that changes throughout the season. The large panicles are held above fresh green foliage and are equally beautiful in the garden or as dried flowers.

A vigorous, deciduous shrub with an upright, spreading habit, 'Grandiflora' is ideal for borders, cottage gardens and large open spaces. Growing to approximately 2–3m high × 2–3m wide, it performs best in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Regular watering during dry periods will encourage strong growth and abundant flowering. Prune in late winter to maintain a compact shape and encourage vigorous new flowering stems.

Fun Fact: 'Grandiflora' is one of the oldest cultivated forms of Hydrangea paniculata. Introduced to cultivation in the 1860s, it became famous for its exceptionally large flower heads and helped establish panicle hydrangeas as popular garden plants in Europe and North America.
