A particularly fine form of Miscanthus. Thanks to Frogmore Gardens for their selection of a darker flower type with great poise. If you want to plant just one Miscanthus as a specimen plant, 'Ferroniere' stands out in form , height and flower. We have been admiring it in our stock beds for a few years and this is the first time we have offered it. Approx. 1.6m high.

A dark green rush-like sedge that is very useful in swampy places, dams, pool and ponds. Native to Australia and New Zealand, this evergreen sedge spreads by rhizomes and can easily be managed as small clumps. Looks best grown in full sun with wet or at least constantly moist soil. 40cm tall.

A close relative to Calamagrostis ‘Karl Forester’, except ‘Overdahm’ is valued for its variegated foliage with cream and green linear markings on each leaf. With slender foliage clump of stiff, narrow leaves up to 1m high, this selection is a little more compact than ‘Karl Forester’. Provides both textural and colour interest in the garden.

Cinnamon bronze upright foliage is the reason this sedge is best known. A New Zealand native, it performs best where the Winter is not too wet and the Summer is not scorchingly hot. I know no other plant that polarises people in their opinion more than this one. Some fall in love with the bronze foliage and yet others see it only as a brown grass. We fall into the former and love the contrast it provides, especially with silver or purple foliage. Grows approx. 50cm high x 30cm wide.
