A classic ornamental variegated Miscanthus variety. Rich cream stripes on deep green run the length of the foliage, giving this plant a white appearance from a distance. Forms a traditional arching shape to approximately 1 metre with coppery-red tinted blooms appearing above the foliage in late Summer to Autumn.

Quite vertical in its appearance, this shorter form (80cm) of 'Little Blue Stem' has blue grey foliage which turns to a striking autumnal purple, orange hue. Silvery pretty flower heads sit above the foliage in late Summer. 'Prairie Blues' thrives in heat and drought. Excessive nutrients and water will cause it to flop. Stunningly beautiful en masse. Approximately 80cm x 40cm.

A close relative to Calamagrostis ‘Karl Forester’, except ‘Overdam’ is valued for its variegated foliage with cream and green linear markings on each leaf. With slender foliage clump of stiff, narrow leaves up to 1m high, this selection is a little more compact than ‘Karl Forester’. Provides both textural and colour interest in the garden.
