As with most Plectranthus, 'Velvet Idol' requires a protected position away from the harsh Australian sun with good drainage and fertile soil. Perfect under trees or in a container. 'Velvet Idol' is free flowering from Autumn until Spring in a tight cluster of powder blue. Reaching 40cm x 40cm, Plectranthus 'Velvet Idol' combines well with Iris japonica variegata, Hydrangea quercifolia, Ligularia and Ruscus hypoglossum.

Grown primarily for its striking burgundy foliage, Crinum 'Wine Time' is an excellent feature or mass planting specimen. The bright pink star shaped flowers in Summer are a stand out against the burgundy foliage. Best in part shade to full sun with moist well drained soil, 'Wine Time' reaches 60cm in height. Native to China, India, Nepal and Pakistan, Eranthemum is invaluable in shady areas beneath trees. Gentian blue flowers are held above the foliage in Spring. It is effective massed, in groups or as a specimen and reaches around a metre in height and width. Eranthemum may survive a light frost here and there but will not survive consistent frost. Lends itself well to shaping and can therefore, with it's dark green foliage be a very effective foil to Iris japonica variegata, Plectranthus 'Silver Shield' or Strobilanthes gossypinus.

Great ground cover beneath trees or in a semi shaded position. Leaf colour varies from green, cream, yellow, chartreuse and bronze. White flowers in mid Autumn. Requires frost free conditions and adequate irrigation. Makes a wonderful hanging basket or container plant - as one or in combination. 20cm tall and spreading to 2m.

Free forming shrub to 3m high, this South American plant is perfect for south eastern Australia where there is no frost. It's main feature is the intense inky purple clusters of tubular flowers from Summer to Autumn. Can be cut back after flowering. Great background plant or feature plant.
