Bred in Germany in 1965, 'Blauer Zwerg' is a compact mop head Hydrangea, growing to just over 1m in height and width. It has strong foliage giving a beautiful compact appearance even without flowers. The blooms are consistent and reliable. With feeding the blue tones can be enhanced to a brilliant cobalt colour in acid soil. Deciduous and semi-shade to shadier conditions. Requires humus enriched soil and adequate moisture to perform at its best.
