Saw Tooth Oak

A stately and attractive medium size oak native to much of Asia. Mid green glossy leaves like those of a chestnut with a serrated margin turn golden yellow in Autumn. The bark is furrowed, corky and dark in colour. It is uncommon in cultivation however majestic specimens can be found in parks and public gardens in Melbourne, Ballarat, Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle. The Sawtooth Oak tolerates heavy frost, moderate drought and poor soils. However it does best in full sun with moist and slightly acid soils. 15m x 15m. (Sold in a 100mm super maxi pot)
