Paint brush Lillies are native to much of Southern and Eastern Africa. In mid Spring the plants emerge from the ground with flower stalks rising to 60cm. The flowers are large dense heads of scarlet red with orange yellow anthers, resembling a paint brush. Dark red purple bracts surround the flowers. This plant is tough and will multiply over time. Enjoys full sun through to semi shade. Looks wonderful planted beneath trees. Herbaceous bulb.

Bred by Ernst Pagels in Germany and introduced in 1995. Four years later it received an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. It is very well behaved, easy care and drought tolerant. In our gravel garden it is a real show stopper, combining well with Salvia barrelieri and Stipa ichu. The soft lemon flowers are abundant and fade to a parchment tone as they age. 50cm x 50cm and makes an excellent cut flower.

With bright sunshine yellow flowers and cheery composure, this Achillea will add light and joy to the garden and bring a sense of excitement when the flowers first appear. The highly divided grey foliage adds an extra feature to the plant. Flowers last all through the Summer and well into Autumn. 60 x 60cm in free draining soil. Surprisingly, the rabbits don't seem to be interested in eating the leaves of this plant.

There are many new release Agastache to choose from and it's with some trepidation that we trialled another pink Agastache. Its unique light pink colour and breeding heritage from Terra Nova Nurseries convinced us to give it a go and we are very glad we did. The flowers are a very pretty light pink that glows in early morning and late afternoon light. It's long blooming with dense blooms that are very eye catching. 50cm high x 40cm wide. Requires full sun and good drainage.
