Ornamental grass pre-order

Ornamental grass pre-order

Due to increasing enquiries for availability of grasses, we have decided to offer pre-orders for a selection of our more popular lines. Below are a list of ornamental grasses currently available for pre-order on our website. These grasses will be sent out through the month of October. As these grasses are popular, be sure to secure your order before they sell out. There will be many more varieties added to our website in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on our website for new and exciting releases.

Calamagrostis 'Karl Foerster'

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR EARLY OCTOBER DELIVERY**

One of the world's most popular grasses. Beautiful, versatile and nearly carefree. It moves gracefully even in the lightest breeze. Strictly upright to 1.5m. We have always grown this grass and found its popularity is increasing remarkably in the last few years.

Miscanthus 'Neotsfield'

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR MID OCTOBER DELIVERY**

We have been growing this lovely form of Miscanthus for a number of years. It is a seed grown variety from our own stock. Very upright in form to 1.6m with a fleck of variegation through the foliage, indicating part of its parentage being Miscanthus 'Strictus'. We have grown it as a backdrop to clipped spheres of Phillyrea angustifolia and Olea 'Bambalina'.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Adagio'

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR MID OCTOBER DELIVERY**

A superior fine textured selection. We have this grass planted down a portion of our driveway. Brutal weather conditions in the Summer of 2018 and 2019 didn't warrant any extra water for this tough plant. It just kept on performing. Red tints in the flowers and strong yellow autumn foliage add extra interest to this already stunning grass.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Hiawatha'

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR MID OCTOBER DELIVERY**

A very handsome and distinctive grass. A kaleidoscope of colours are revealed in the foliage when subjected to Autumn frost conditions. Upright to 1.8m. Drought tolerant and stunning.

Panicum virgatum 'Lama Rossa'

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR LATE OCTOBER DELIVERY**

Introducing Panicum 'Lama Rossa', translated from the Italian for red blade. After many years of growing this Panicum we have decided to give it a name. Upright to about 1m in height like its parent plant 'Heavy Metal'. The main difference between this and 'Heavy Metal' is in the colour - it has red tips to the blades which age to being a dark burgundy. Then as Summer wanes this Panicum puts on a cloak of autumnal hues - claret, sanguine, maroon and bronze before fading into its Winter wheaton colours. A proven performer.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Cabaret'

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR EARLY OCTOBER DELIVERY**

The most striking of all the variegated Miscanthus we grow. Rich green broad blades that have conspicuous milky white stripes with copper-coloured plumes that appear above the foliage in Autumn. Forming a sturdy upright clump to 1.8m high this showy ornamental grass will add drama to the landscape. Heat and drought tolerant.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Flamingo'

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR MID OCTOBER DELIVERY**

Distinguished for its pink flower plumes that are slightly pendulous , sitting above the upright foliage. Described by Piet Oudolf and Michael King in their book ‘Gardening with Grasses’ as “...one of the best varieties. A pink flowering, free hanging form, possessing lightness and elegance.” A tall growing clump approx. 1.8m high x 1.2m wide.

Pennisetum alopecuroides

** PRE-ORDER NOW FOR EARLY OCTOBER DELIVERY**

Described as a native of Australia but is also native to areas of Asia. Very ornamental foxtail like grass-heads in shades of green, cream and purple. Tolerant of all soil types. Requires only minimal maintenance - one cut back in early Spring. Makes a statement whether planted singly or en masse, and is an excellent backdrop for contrasting plants. 1m x 1m.
