Punica granatum 'Nana'
Sold out
This plant is currently unavailable.
The dwarf Pomegranate is a natural variant of the species occurring throughout the Mediterranean and the Middle East. In our climate we have gained a new respect for this tough and beautiful deciduous plant, as during the current drought we have found the dwarf Pomegranate to be very durable. Our plants in ground have tolerated frost to -5℃ in Winter and 45℃ in Summer, all with limited rainfall (330mm in the last nine months) and two additional deep waterings. The plants are thriving and look fantastic in new Spring growth. We have kept them pruned to 70 x 70cm although they can reach 2m unpruned. The fruits are the size of golf balls and are very tasty. This plant would make a great hedge.
