'Baby Charm' is obvious from the name a compact smaller growing variety of Euphorbia x martinii. Euphorbia x martinii is itself a cross between Euphorbia amygdaloides and Euphorbia characias subsp. characias. Although that seems complex this plant is rather simple. The emerging young leaves are tinged purple and mature to a lovely deep green. Lovely lime green bracts with a tiny red flower emerge from this foliage in late Winter through Spring. 'Baby Charm' prefers a sunny position but can handle dry shade. Good drainage is essential. 50 x 50cm.

Feijoa sellowiana

For years we have marvelled at tightly clipped 'Pineapple Guava' hedges. The concept that a hedge can provide screening and protection and fruit is very appealing. Four years ago we decided to plant our own Feijoa hedge. It has proven to be not only all of the above but attractive as well. Dark green upper leaf surface and silvery lower surface has the hedges appearance changing with the breeze. The flowers are red and typically myrtle like and the fruit olive green with a pleasing fruit salad flavour. Fruit can be used to make ice cream, jam, smoothies or fresh. Tolerant of drought and frost. If left unpruned Feijoa will reach a height of 4m x 4m wide. Due to biosecurity reasons we can't send this plant to South Australia.

We don't generally have Fuchsias in our collection but have made an exception here. This is a remarkable Fuchsia, as the foliage itself provides ample interest - an elixir for anyone who has an interest in variegated foliage. Brilliant in hanging baskets or containers, contrasting with the foliage of most other plants. Also makes a show in partially shaded gardens 'Tom West' is a very old variety but carries forward much appeal.
