Sold out
Visit product page →Buy 1 for $13.00 / Buy 5 for $55.00
This Helenium has performed extremely well in our stock beds through heat, drought and flooding conditions. Heleniums grow well in our clay based composted growing beds with no irrigation. The mass of stunning flowers ablaze in burgundy red and mahogany are a highlight for us each Summer. Synonymous with 'Dark Beauty' it grows to 80cm high x 60cm wide and tolerates most soil types except asphyxiating clays. Does best in full sun with good Winter drainage. The addition of organic matter to the soil will encourage growth and larger flower heads.

Sunshine yellow velvet-textured petals with beautiful chocolate bronze centres. Dense terminal clusters of flowers appear on erect stems in Mid Summer reaching 80cm. Even after the petals fall the remaining flower cones are still attractive. Heleniums in general require compost enriched soils that retain moisture. We have found that they can endure short periods of time without water but flower better with regular watering. Perfect in amongst grasses.

The lime leafed variety of the ever popular Helichrysum petiolare! Not as tough or resilient as its silver cousin, 'Limelight' prefers semi-shaded, moist soil conditions to keep its lush, fresh lime appearance. Makes a great container or hanging basket specimen, but in addition contrasts well with dark foliage in the garden beneath trees. 'Limelight' can handle more sun but tends to take on a washed out yellow hue instead of the desired lime. Trim regularly and keep out of frost. 80cm x 1m if left unpruned. Plant with Plectranthus Velvet series for appeal.
