Mesa™ Peach is a vigorous, upright growing, well branched perennial. It has excellent heat and drought tolerance and flowers won't fade in the sun. Blooming begins in mid Summer and continues well into Autumn. The large flowers are bicolour - golden yellow and peach with a green and peach coloured centre. Grows up to 40cm in height.

This is the white flowering form of the usually pink Geranium maderense. It is a large evergreen perennial 'shrub' that produces masses of white flowers with pink centres in its second or third year. The highly dissected leaves provide interest even when there are no flowers. Prefers a protected spot away from harsh sun, wind and heavy frost (handles -4ºC). Short lived. 1m x 1m.

'Rubinzwerg' has received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Only the best of the best receive this award. The RHS description of the plant: "Masses of rich mahogany red flowers surrounding a green centre that matures to a dark chocolate brown and opens with a halo of golden anthers". 'Rubinzwerg' is a real delight and inspires us to revisit the Helenium beds several times a day when in flower. 75cm in height, 60cm in width. Heleniums grow in most soils except waterlogged clay, benefit from compost application and are both frost and heat tolerant.

Helenium ‘Zimbelstern’, literally translated as “cymbal star” is one of the top-performing cultivars bred by the renowned German breeder, Karl Foerster. An excellent tall perennial with deep bronze green leaves and black flower stems. This is reportedly the first variety without yellow in the flowers. Flower buds are red and petals emerge as an orange red, which fade to a golden orange. Makes a wonderful cut flower easily grown in good soil. 1.2m x 60cm.

'Burning Hearts' is a show-stopping clump forming perennial with golden yellow flowers with dark flame orange eyes. Flowers are produced throughout the Summer months. The distinguishing contrast to the flowers is the dark purple, almost black stems and leaves. Reaches 1m tall, prefers full sun with compost enriched soil and adequate moisture, although it is tolerant of drought and poor soils. Attracts butterflies and other insect pollinators.

A plant we have grown consistently for 25 years. Easily grown, Japanese Iris prefers semi shade and compost enriched soil. Adequate moisture will ensure quick growth. The white striped leaves brighten up any shaded space. Variegated Iris japonica contrasts well with Ajuga 'Catlins Giant', Ruscus hypoglossum, Plectranthus and Helleborus. Pretty ruffled blue and white flowers appear occasionally on 60cm spikes in early Spring. 45cm in height.

Kniphofia as a genus is named after 18th century German botanist - Johann Hieronymus Kniphof. 'Red Hot Poker' is the common name, even if many are not red. All Kniphofia originate in Africa, but are bred all over the world. POCO™ Red has been bred by Terra Nova Nurseries. It is a compact variety that blooms longer and has attractive upright foliage. Makes a great container plant. Coral red flowers are held above the foliage through Summer and into Autumn. 60cm x 60cm.
