The sweetest, most alluring fragrance in the garden bar none. It is truly heavenly scented. The small white flowers appear in mid Winter and flower through into Spring. Once you have had the pleasure of sampling this fragrance you will just want more. The downside to this gangly deciduous shrub is just that - it is unruly and rather ugly. Best kept in an out of the way area. Let the fragrance drift through the air and the shrub hidden! 2m x 2m.

Growing up in South Africa, Melianthus major gives ma many childhood memories. The peanut butter fragrance of the leaves, the unusual blue green serrated foliage, and the large copper chains of fragrant flowers are all distinguishing features. It grew in many of the gardens in my neighbourhood. As a plant, Melianthus major really impresses. It is very low in maintenance requirements and unpruned reaches 2.5m. A bold statement in the garden and certainly handsome. Iron tough!

We have grown it as a backdrop to clipped spheres of Phillyrea angustifolia and Olea 'Bambalina'.

Miscanthus sinensis 'Adagio'

A superior fine textured selection. We have this grass planted down a portion of our driveway. Brutal weather conditions in the Summer of 2018 and 2019 didn't warrant any extra water for this tough plant. It just kept on performing. Red tints in the flowers and strong yellow autumn foliage add extra interest to this already stunning grass.
